First it was Christian Joy who, after styling the iconic Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O went on to design a collection of dresses for Topshop, then it was prolific young illustrator Kate Moross, whose graphic tees for Topshop intertwined spatial shapes with astrophysical typography, and now we’ve gone all out and bagged illustrator of the moment Will Broome!

“Like a care bear that is beyond caring; My Little Pony on a trip to the glue factory; Paddington on the psychiatrists couch”, Will Broome’s macabre etchings have an avid following in the fashion world due to a hidden darkness that lurks beneath their happy-go-lucky façade. And now the Nottingham-born artist is adding Topshop to his list of collaborators.

“I don’t really think or plan how or what I am going to draw…I just sort of doodle…On everything…rulers desks, my books, me…everywhere!” and now Topshop t-shirts it would appear! From the ‘Leaping Panda’ with a pathetic leap to the ‘Monster Face’ who’s not really scary, Will Broome’s hand-drawn characters intelligently balance a beautifully naivety with a morbid undertone, making them some of the most sought-after illustrations in the industry today…and our latest favourite look for the summer season.
